Upstream PS will be discussing the case for greater industry collaboration and some key strategies for overcoming Australia’s unique challenges during the 2017 RIU Good Oil Conference, 13-14 September at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Perth in Western Australia.

In his presentation, “Regional Collaboration: It’s not easy, but it’s essential”, Paul Harrison, Upstream PS Executive General Manager will discuss collaboration at a project level, and the revolutionary steps some operators in Western Australia and the Northern Territory are taking for the collective success of industry.
“We want to work together with interested parties to explore new business models predicated on sharing capacity and capability (infrastructure, people, assets, resources). Building trust between industry participants I believe we can move up the value curve and collaborate on more processes traditionally viewed as core,” said Paul Harrison, “By working collectively we can overcome the challenges to developing a world leading and globally competitive oil and gas sector.”
As Executive General Manager - West, Paul is responsible for the operation and maintenance of several onshore and offshore production facilities in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Timor Sea. A strong proponent of industry collaboration, he is an experienced executive with 30 years’ international experience in the hydrocarbon and associated complex process industries. Paul has held senior executive leadership roles locally and internationally. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical/Manufacturing and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Management Science. He is a fellow of Engineers Australia, graduate member of AICD and a registered project director with AIPM.
