A key reflection from Gaurang Joshi, Head of Delivery - Energy Projects, was that as global energy demand continues to rise, CCS is one of the most practical solutions to reduce emissions while maintaining energy reliability. Australia is well-placed to lead this effort, with world‑class research at the Otway International Test Centre, two operating CCS projects, and a strong development pipeline - but greater investment and coordinated policy will be essential to stay on a net‑zero trajectory.
As a long‑standing partner of CO2CRC at the Otway International Test Centre, GR Production Services has supported every phase of the project for the last 20 years - from early concept design and drilling through to construction and ongoing operations. It’s been a privilege to help demonstrate the safe and effective storage of CO₂ underground and contribute to Australia’s leading CCS research efforts.
